 This was my second choice for ideas. I think it is a bit of a stretch on the theme. Photo was massaged in PS, resized, cropped, sharpened & hue.

The colors look a little washed out on this. Nice DOF. Overall I find the subject of this photo not too interesting.

Interesting idea for this challenge! There's a good start at building tension in the viewer with the threat of the inevitable--wonder how far you could have pushed the pencil in to create just a bit more.... Nice depth of field and use of light and color. Overall, not bad.

balloon and a pencil? how is that opposire? how about a pencil and a pen? or a full and a flat balloon?
