my first attempt at using photoshop, and the theme for my friends' band Curse The Mariner's website layout. at first i just wanted to have the band hold a fram with a very flashy and bright picture of themselves in it, with the outer picture in black and white. i later changed my mind about the black and white ( too much contrast with the color) and just desaturated the outer picture slightly. the paint was an after thought. i wanted to use it to link the individual shot i did of each band member to the group/ themed and to accentuate the inner photo. i wanted to show my frustration with the promotional photography of bands nowadays that hardly showcases the bands personality at all. these guys are characters and i wanted to show it. settings for the inner picture are: 28mm, f3.5, 1/15
