This was one of my top two, I really don't get the results in this challenge. This is a great shot that fits the challenge better then most others and is technically excellent. You (and many others in this chanenge) were robbed!
I agree. I was expecting to see this on the front page today and am a little disappointed with DPCers for giving this a sub 6 score. Hope you'll keep your awesome out of the box creativity going in the future.

Thanks JMart for the one up. Nah the scoring wont keep me down. And yes im def going for the creative angle. I like going outside of the box with these challanges. It gets a little boring to see 20 different versions of the same picture. Watch the apple challange if i get my macro lense in time i have something special planned for that one.

Very creative and well executed shot and quite unusual too but somehow I just don't get a very strong feeling of silence from it. Actually I find it difficult to get any particular message from it even though I tried to connect to the title. A little too obscure for me. 6
Cool! This is really a fun way to meet the challenge & it has my imagination going wild. Love the silencing of speaking+hearing. I hope you have a short sci-fi story to share at the end of this challenge ;)
Strong image. Very sci-fi. Is this rmezzo's work? I normally don't like "dropper tool" colored borders, but in this case it fits with the photo style. Sensory deprivation is an interesting take on the theme (as is covering the ears).
What a WEIRD - and extremely interesting - picture. Very interesting lighting, but a little dark in the center of the face. Also, the line from the plastic cuff tab is distracting.
