Wandered around campus in the middle of a silent snowy night, this was my favorite shot... not that it's especially spectacular. :)

Minimal editing (in Google's Picasa)... slight crop, B&W, warm, tweak contrast, resize for submission.

If this were an Advanced Editing challenge (and if I knew how), I would have loved to have emphasized the shadow of that tree on the snow more...

Did real well for a first submission. A nice job on a difficult lighting problem too. You asked about emphasizing the shadow of the tree more... Here's a modified version in Photoshop, using shadow/highlight, levels, and some other stuff...

Nice enough image that conveys the feeling of silence quite well. I feel that in both the upper right and left hand corners it's just a little bit too dark. 5
