This is the highest finisher of the 8's I awarded. I like the almost-ethereal quality of "soft sharpness" you've captured here. The only nit I have with the image, what kept it from a 9 in my book, is the vague, diffuse haloing around the tree. Congrats on a very fine image.

Softer focus on the tree here gives it a haunting quality, I really get a feel for being out in the middle of nowhere with this shot. 7 from me
