My trusty model Snoopy. Smelly didn't want to cooperate to much this time. There was quiet a wind so the sand was blowing in her face, aswell as the glasses falling off all the time.
Thank you all for your votes and comments! Kicking myself as I never new the halo looked so bad until I saw it on another monitor. Tks Smelly!

Congrats on the ribbon! It's a delight to share the front page with Snoopy aka Smelly. I love the humour, attitude and colour she brought to the challenge. :)
I'm not surprised to see a mixed bag of comments. I happen to love the concept and humor here, but I'm in the camp of too much halo! But let's face, this image cracks me up, and it put a smile on the face of my daughters. So...I love the ride I get with the photograph, but there is a bit of a bump in the road with the tonemapping!
I'm also surprised to see such a high score here. I would use this as an example of how HDR or shadow/highlight can totally break an image if they are overdone. There is a way to use these dynamic range increasing tools that does not leave such distracting artifacts. Pushing it this far is like turning the radius up way too high in unsharp mask.
I am surprised this is on the front page. The halo in this picture is very distracting and looking through the other pictures there are others that are technically better.
Talk about attitude, lol - darling picture! Love the colors and your model is quite cute. I like the composition. (Erm, you know 'bout the halo..grin). Great job! Congrats on the ribbon!
This one is the winner for me. Pity about he halo and the odd looking socks though. That detracts a bit otherwise this one would have been in the No.1 spot for sure I think.
What's his name, "Socks"? Gotta love this one. The highly saturated colors work perfectly for this. Hope your model got some doggie treats for putting up with this. A nice high vote for the great photography of this. Also a spiffy "shoehorn" award for injecting some humor into a non-humorous challenge.
Joe Cool! Great composition and colors. (the booties don't quite blend with the rest of the scene - looks too warm to me for those) Like how the dog is looking to the side instead of straight ahead. 9 from me :)
One of my top 6 images. I'm not too crazy about the signs of editing in terms of halo on the left and a darker area on the right side of the dog.
But the angle you took it and the focal length you used sparks life to the picture making it fun. The green 'leggings' and added colors around his neck makes it even better. 7 from me.
Oh that is just about too fabulous. The socks. LOL That dog is a great sport. My only nitpick is the vignette around him, like you did a layer and then erased it.
