This dragonfly was very friendly, it let me get very close and observe it quite some time. It perched on this orange lily that really complimented it's beautiful color. Dragonfly's are amazing creatures that I can't help but watch as they go about there daily business. I know people have seen a million dragonfly pics but i can't help snapping them when I get the chance, I just marvel at their beauty.

Awesome shot, I have been dabbling with my Sigma 180mm Macro f/3.5 and have a LOT to learn.
DOF and ISO and patience! Did you manual focus and what tripod?
very fun and vibrant colors! The focus is spot on and the clarity is almost blinding. I might have liked a slightly different comp. but that's really a small detail for this image.
Excellent macro. Love the focus on its eyes. Square crops looks good. Only pity is you didn't post at higher res, the full 720px would've had a greater impact. (no vote)
Striking image and one that definitely catches your eye. I love the contrasting colors and the way the dragonfly's eye seem to be staring right through me.
