Challenge: Best of 2008 (Advanced Editing VII*)
Camera: Nikon D40
Lens: Nikon AF-S DX Zoom Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 ED
Date: Jun 15, 2008
Date Uploaded: Jan 15, 2009

One of my favorite images from the summer. This was my -2 exposure in a bracket that I took from a bike ride in glacier national park. You'll notice that this is the same spot and scene from my July 2008 free study submission. People asked to see a color version, and I tried my best to fix some of the criticisms from the previous challenge. I'm looking forward to seeing how this does.

This could be a really pretty scene with better lighting.

an amazing vista - the image seems too dark in the foreground and the sky a bit too purple/blue for my taste

Those colors, the greens and blues, are beautiful.

Great sky and nice subtle shadows on the trees. Good sharpness throughout. Colors are well saturated without being overdone.

I love the mountains, I'm trying to work out where these are - here's a guess - Italian Dolomites?:)

I like the slightly downtoned effect of whatever you did in PP. Very nice vista! 7
