Don't know why, but it reminds me of an Arthur Rackham illustration. All it needs is a vulture or child, or both, in the tree.

eta: I like the way the two trees meld. I think that's what makes it like a fantasy.

I see it also. I also see a dinosaur, the Virgin Mary, and an elephant standing on his head and holding up a pair of binoculars with his trunk. It's quite the hidden picture puzzle. :) I like the color.
