The tones really make this image - the light that bounces off the grass and adds a bit of promise to an otherwise dreary scene.

You've got all your leading lines converging in one spot. Wonderful image! Where does the road go? there seems to be s low bit of land or a causeway off to the right?

the gold and yellows really provide just the right amount of color - the choice of composition with the road leading in from the lower left allows our eyes to find the mountain pass in the background
