Good shot for the texture of the bread. The lighting is a bit harsh, as indicated by the sharp shadow being the bread. Try diffusing against a wall. The mitt is good, but probably more of it would help the composition to give it more of an action feel.

maybe if you had cut the end off the loaf...with the steam rising and melted butter...not a bad shot...but a little cluttered and close

Excellent detail on the bread. Not sure about the board, AND the grid, AND the quilted mitten. Especially the mitten.
