We brought home pails of the beach from our vacation in October...so I made a sand castle then placed it in 'reality' of the 5 inches of snow we got last night!

hmmm...as for the cardboard- it is supposed to be the drawbridge...guess I could have left it out.
as for the aluminum foil...it was 'supposed' to hold the moat. The first trip out the door I dropped the pan and then had to go back in and rebuild the castle...by then I was aggrevated and when I went back outside I forgot to pour the water...didn't notice until I uploaded the photos (the sand and mess was already put away so I took my chances)

Kind of cool, with a nice composition with the angled castle. The aluminum foil and cardboard are not really pretty though. I do like the shell flag on top :)
Oh, now this is precious!!! I love the idea of this and the fact that you found a way to incorporate sand in your shot and the way that you're portrayed it. I'm sure that it's not going to hit a lot of voter's tastes as it's not going to match up to the lovely sand scenes that the warmer climates can capture, but I like it!!! 9
This is hilarious. A lot of work went into this. And certainly a unique use for a cookie tray. Lighting is tough with such a reflecting background, so maybe that's why this looks a bit flat.
Real fun idea though I would like to have seen the detail of the snow. The cardboard and the tinfoil don't make sense to me, but good creativity, perhaps too many shells.
