Not sure how this will do, I'm not really into shooting fireworks. But I thought I would do something different with a fireworks theme. This is my first challenge in a long time so I don't know how the dynamic here is on the site anymore. But I how some people get a kick out of this!

Wow, what a crazy week! I had no idea this would do so well. Started off rough into the 6's and then climbed back into the 7's but swung wildly back and forth. I can't wait to see the breakdown of votes, some 250 votes and 800 views with about an hour to go. No matter where this ends up, it will be my highest rated shot to date. Thanks everyone!

I dont think the lighting could be more perfect! This is an absolutely FABULOUS shot, much more interesting than the fireworks themselves...they're only fun for so long, this is timeless, instant favorite :D
BRILLIANT! And I am SO proud of the dpc voters for justly rewarding a photo that "thought out of the box". Usually, out-of-the-box thinking gets punished dearly in challenges. Woo hoo. We are evolving :) This is AMAZING! Something about it reminds me of one of those old Post Magazine covers. Congratulations on your award for such a great photo.
Congratulations on the ribbon. I really liked this, but didn't know how it would do since it could've been interpreted as DNMC. Take out the low DNMC votes, and this probably would've been the blue ribbon.
WELCOME back! I'm so glad this made the top 3. You'd think it would shut up the whiners who didn't enter cuz they had no access to fireworks. Be creative people! Like this guy. :) Well done.
As soon as I saw this during voting, I knew it would ribbon. Great shot and excellent pp. Congrats on your ribbon and PB... oh, and welcome back, John!
There's 2 kinds of photography. Images that are capturing a moment in time that will never come again and those images that are created over and over so as to solicit a response. I call the second category photo acting because it can be recreated over and over.
lol i love this. very very well done, the editing is excellent. did you burn his face in photoshop or with makeup? looks great. egads this is definetly one of my favs in this challenge. hope others are liking it-9
A very talented way to meet the challenge with something else. Actually, this is much better than the 40 real fireworks seen so far. Expression, light, idea...everything's perfect. Fav.
