Unfortunately he never left the shade so it was difficult to get a good exposure. He was also moving all over the place, eagerly expecting to get some banana from my friends down below.

I am sad I can't see more detail inthe monkey and that my eye is drawn to the lower right corner by its brightness. In a high contrast image like this, double processing for the highlights and the shadows and merging the two would have given you a more light balanced photo. Or possibly try shadow/highlights adjustment.
The monkey is pretty dark. Maybe a tighter crop would show more details. The harsh light on the right side distracts from what could be a very nice image.
