It wasn't shot through glass, the tigers were in a pit and we were a couple of feet above. I was quite far from them, but used a telephoto lens and then cropped.
Lens: Canon EF 75-300mm telephoto
Focal Length: 300mm (handheld)
I would have dodged the eyes if it was under the advanced rules.
This is a wonderful picture but without the title, I don't see it meeting the challenge. I mean, I don't think B&W the moment I see it. I think TIGER. Or Blue Eyes. That said, it does meet the challenge I guess, given the title. The picture itself is terrific. I just can't see a magazine editor choosing it to illustrate OPPOSITES. I like the DOF
Beautiful tiger. I might've tried to crop out the green in the corner, but I don' t know if that would have been possible to keep the dimensions you wanted. 7.
Wow! Now this one stands out! Bet you wished you could have saved this one for the centered subject challenge... I love everything about this - great job.
Odd that it never even occurred to me that someone might take a picture of a tiger like this... but I really do like the picture, I think the way you cropped it makes the contrast stronger, and I like the border. Nice job!
Wow I hope you used a zoom for this shot! This is great. The only thing I would change is the border. I don't think it adds much to the shot. Mabye if the border was just white it would add a lot more - 7
That is very cool. Full frame and centering work here very well. Lighting is adequate ... it would have been nice if the eyes were highlighted more but you have to get what you have to get ... you're only given one chance in cases like this. Very nice capture!
