The house I grew up in. Obviously, it's being renovated and extended. In my time there, it was white but was repainted its apparent original colours.
It was built in 1913 and is now known as the Macartney Cottage, after the first captain who lived there.
Harrison Road, Duntroon, in case you wanted to Google Earth it. ;-)
My bedroom is being converted to a new bathroom, and there are lots of other changes inside.
I think it's very cool when a house has a name. It has a lineage, a history then. Doesn't happen often (at all, now that I think about it) any of the places I lived as I was growing up.
Does it bother you to see the changes? My (adult) kids have heart failure every time I talk about changing one of "their" rooms into something I could use, like a guest room or office. I'm half amused and half annoyed by that ;-)
