this was actually my first opportunity to shoot "action" shot. i spend most of the evening excperimenting with various settings and ultimately found this slow shutter speed with a flash the most interesting. i feel it begins to communicate the context and vibe of what was happening. in this shot, women in the black dress is the focal point, while the dress with on the right side is interesting in how light is playing wiht the fabric. in terms of the orange cast, i like it.

Dont get me wrong but i wanna be cruelly honest with you.. because i often wanted other people to tell me what i am doing wrong so that i can improve perhaps.. so here i go:
1-white balance is all off in this scene, notice the red color cast in the entire frame. that is created by the indoor lighting and becasue of different color temperatures cameras sometimes have hard time interepreting the lighting data.. so it is best to tke pictures in a controlled lighting environment as much as possible.. or if youhave the option you can try your camera's custom white balance settings
2- i dont see anything interesting in this frame.. it has a snapshot kinda feel and doesnt matter how we want to believe that every photo we photographers take is the best, trh truth is sometimes you have to look at thigns from different perspectives and try to create and emotional impact.. a dramatic effect if you will..
3- there is not enough detail in this picture either.. and that is probably due to use of flash and not enough lighting again...
hope you take this criticism the good way.. i dont want to be rude in anyway.. just trying to help...
