I took this photo for the Bokeh challenge. It was alllllmost a basic edited photo, but there were some tiny white spots -- from the light shining on his wet face and chin that I just decided I had to clone out. But I didn't have to do a whole lot else to it. The way the light was shining on the water cast that golden color naturally. That's the real thing.
Turtles love me. . .and I love them :)

Wow, amazing detailing and great use of lighting; can't believe that you can see his teeth or whatever those are! Love the "up close and personal" perspective!
Sandy! This is soooo different... I expected to see a beautiful bird. This is definitely a departure from your usual style and very unique. Beautiful colors and stunning detail. Congrats on your high finish!
I thought this might be yours Sandy, and surprised it did not get higher score and position..... Good result in this 'Free Study' as there was some stiff competition here this month.
Who knew turtles had teeth? LOL... Great shot, as usual. Frankly, I don't see any "bokeh" here at all by my standards, just silky-smooth OOF areas, so you made the right choice IMO.
I love the smooth golden bokeh. To me it seems as though the focus is on the teeth and not the eye. Only thing that would have made this image better is a little sharper eye.
This has a SandyP kinda feel to it, which means it's a warm, gentle, very well done portrait of an interesting critter. The golds in this are wonderful.
