 This is Jackson, a 7 year old boy who was a real pleasure to work with. Lights include one large softbox and a one reflector. I wanted to keep the image simple. Background is a textured chalkboard.

Absolutely not! In fact, here was my comment before reading yours.

I love this. All the subtleties -- the stray thread on his shoulder, the crooked tie, the crumb... Excellent background, great lighting, expert BW processing.

Different perspectives, I suppose.

This is a beautiful shot. I never manage to get such simple and honest expressions from children.
