Fabulous shot Roz! Congrats on the ribbon.
Post actions
Terrific shot Roz! And thank you for listing the equipment you used to get this great close-up. It has convinced me to invest in some extension tubes, although that doesn't mean I'll ever achieve your wonderful results!
Post actions
Absolutely fabulous, roz. Congrats!
Post actions
Let me guess you also didn't use a tripod and you had to time your focus while hopping around trying to avoid fire ants? :P Congrats Roz.
Post actions
Great shot considering the aperture. The whole foreground is in focus.
Post actions
AHHHHHHmazing! Congrats, Roz!
Post actions
Brilliant!! congrats on the blue!
Post actions
I said it before and I'll say it again, Roz is to bugs as Irene is to waterdrops.
p.s. you know you've arrived when people start guessing who the photographer is by the shot during voring! Message edited by author 2008-12-24 00:18:37.

Had a second look at this one and increased your score. In my opinion you have achieved a nice subtle bokeh with a very interesting, and detailed foreground. Great Job.

The right bottom is kind of OOF and dark, like some other parts of the cricket. I like the Bokeh but it could be more soft. I really like the colors (mostly the red eye) and the water drops too!
Post actions
To me this is all about the forground. Pin sharp and well exposed/composed.
Post actions
Amazingly clear, love the water drops. Well done!
Post actions
Beautiful, if you can call a grasshopper that. Is this one of Roz's photos? Love the bokeh as well as the sharpness and water drops.
Post actions
Love the little droplet hat! Lots of fun things to see here.

Wow. What a wonderful creature. All of our 'hoppers have fled. The shadow over the bottom half of the body adds an interesting vignette.
