Good depth of field, and the contrast does emphasize the rust well. There's something about the background which is distracting me though. It blends in too much with the big object at left, and has too many vying for my attention.
Blue and orange almost exact complements. The color in the background is very effective. There is no question about what this photo is about. Nice lighting, focus, composition, and exposure. A very nice picture to look at and study as well.

to me this is just a picture of rust without a storey. if you look at any picture it should tell some kind of a storey or history. maybe if the background was in focus would have made a greater impact on me.
