I think this would be more striking if there were more contrast (or colour difference) between the abstract object and the background.

the shallow dof is okay but the dust....too distracting for a nice shot. Not something of interest or something to hang on the wall.

maybe you needed to spend 10secs more removing the dust as it distracts from a good photo
