The Image: My image from the last hearts challenge was the worst photo I have taken and edited in my life. I was new to dpc at the time and I took an image of artichoke hearts. This is my better, if maybe not perfect attempt to make up for the last embarrassment. I do love food photography, but haven't had much success here with it. I thought I would go again, hoping this might make it into the top 20.
The Edit: Just adjustments of levels and colour etc with some blur and d and b. I then went back and did a black and white layer adjustment and masked it to reveal the colour where I wanted it, so this is a selective desat. I like what happened to the lighting and the bits of blue on the plate.
The Prediction: 6.0000 ... there will be too many creative people out there for this one. I wanted to strap a lambs heart to my sleeve and call it 'wearing your heart on your sleeve' but couldn't get one in time :)

hey enzo .. so out'v the box and such an excellent shot .. just the other day someone asked me whether i'd ever eaten artichokes .. i think i tried them years ago and was unimpressed .. looking at these artichokes so beautifully presented i think i'll have to try them again, they look incredibly yummy !!! .. its a brilliant food shot and you nearly got in the top 20 .. i think the heart on your sleeve might'v been a bit too gross for the dpc crowd .. but you never know .. they can surprise you in their reactions those voters .. !!..:)
Superb quality! And a truly different take on hearts. I am really impressed with the clarity, the lighting, the color tones, even the reflections lol. 10
A bit of a shoehorn, but a really, really nice image...I am not going to ding you. Great composition, great use of colors, great lighting, I like this picture.
I have to admit I was wondering how that picture fit :) But then, after reading your title, it hit me. A very different and interesting take on this challenge
This is making me so hungry. I like that this is a different take on the theme, but that without the title we could still get it. Should be in a menu somewhere. Should be in my tummy!!
