Yes, I know, another sherpet square crop, and unique pattern style of image, but this is me, and I like what I do.
I had many ideas with colored card cut and shaped into hearts, but knew many other people would do similar things, so I went back to what I do BEST.
I had fun, but also frustration with this set up.
I have these small bottles of bright colored hard candies called 'Bo Peeps', that I wanted to use.
I used two heart shaped chocolates, one at the top, and one in the center. I arranged three rows of the small 'Bo Peeps' lollies around the covered chocolate heart in the center. Around these I then arranged the tiny pink musk lollies that you see, and then another two rows of the 'Bo Peeps'.
It was a very sticky situation, and had many frustration moments, I finally was able to add the short strawberry licorice sticks, that I joined together, and covered with sour sugar coated strips, into red rope, to form a heart around the edge of the lollies inside.
I then finished the heart shaped Sweetheart pattern, to what you see here, with a row of pale pink heart shaped lollies. Very sticky, very time consuming, but worth it in the end. Only one title came to mind, 'Sweetheart"
Enjoy.....

WOW, I'M IMPRESSED WITH PATIENCE AND PERSISTENCE YOU HAD TO CREATE THIS PIECE! ALL THOSE SMALL PIECES OF CANDY I'M SURE WERE VERY DIFFICULT TO PLACE AND STAY IN PLACE WHILE CAREFULLY CONSTRUCTING THIS ART PIECE. THE END RESULT IS JUST FABULOUS. LOVE THE BOLD COLORS OF THIS CANDY HEART.
Shez, you put a lot of work into these shots. I, for one, love your creativity and look forward to seeing your work so please don't stop doing them. They are unique, crisp, clean and perfectly focussed. I agree with Peter bassbone that this one would make a great Valentines Day card.
Love and ((hugs)),
Irene
Hi Shez, We have a museum here in the U.S. in Sanibel Island, Florida called the Bailey-Matthews Shell Museum. There is collection there of "Sailors' Valentines" that your art really reminds me of. Have you ever heard of this art form? They are quite unique and beautiful, and the photos don't even do them justice.
Shez, your sense of design amazes me - and your patience!! I love your description of the "sticky situation" - very delightful! I don't care one iota about the score. I love the picture, I love your description of what went into it, and I love that it is so very you!
I think it is quite amazing how you manage to fit everything so perfectly. I can imagine going through the whole process and then having the outside row not coming out even. I really like your square cropped pattern art.
I was also disappointed and really feel sometimes people may realize that it is my image, and I do think some of those people actually make it lower. Just my feeling...... shez
I also stuff up and enter an image that should never have been entered. Just like another image that is in a current challenge, then the fault is mine, and mine alone.....
My average than pays for it. When will I ever learn.....
hey shez .. i've looked at wot beat you and i'm blown away by those voters ..
this deserved a much better score .. its very very brilliant both in those amazingly vibrant colours and the intricate and busy design .. :)
I love the design on this shot. The colors are so bright its both good and bad at the same time. The background pink is quite powerful and a bit distracting.
