Taken at the Carleton University annual Butterfly Exhibit. Tweaked in DPP, then in CS 2, I used levels, hue/sat, brightness/contrast, selective color. I also selected the background and blurred it slightly and reduced the yellow tones, to make the butterfly pop more. I sharpened with a USM pass, and the High Pass Filter using hard light. Cropped, cloned out a few very minor distractions at the edge of the crop, resized, another slight USM pass and saved for the web. I think that’s it.

Lovely butterflies, and they look so very delicate here. Love the fade to creamy white in the background, too, as it echoes the butterflies' color while their black outlines are in crisp contrast to it. They look almost like cartoon butterflies, which is not a style I usually like but it works here.
Beautiful close-up, super composition and technically top class. I voted an 8 for this stunner.
Ps. I have an entry in this challenge myself as well but it's not really going anywhere.
