real money ...
We have so many left over bills from my husbands business trips, some I don't even know where they are from. Well they got washed :)))
The hardest part was to get a decent frame in the narrow bathroom, keep the fog away from the lens and the bills went under much faster than anticipated ...
We are really not good at staged shots, and I can already see many things, I could have improved.
used the preset for aged photo in lightroom and tweaked the settings a bit, crop
noise reduction and resize in PS, save for web

Dear critique club,
as I am getting many negative remarks about the lighting, I would really like to learn from this image and ask for suggestions about better processing. After the voting I' ll link to the original.
I don't possess studio lights, only the built in camera flash, I could have used my beloved fisheye for the shot, but the model (my daughter) didn't like the look ...

I think the Lightroom preset is what made it appear "washed out" to some, though that is indeed the look of the preset, and it is very monitor-dependent. On my monitor, it looks fine. Your original shows it is definitely not overexposed! I can't help you much with ideas for processing (I'm not that good at it) and with on camera flash, your best option is to kinda diffuse it (a tissue for instance) and to use a white board or large piece of paper as a reflector, too. It really can be surprising how much difference that makes! As it is, I think you lit her face well, and the shot is composed well, and definitely meets the challenge in a unique and interesting way!
Unfortunately you haven't gotten any comments yet, so I'll add what I see in the picture. The edited picture looks very overexposed and washed out with white light. The original actually looks much better to me and I feel it would have scored better with no editing. I know to you it appeared too dark, but that was better than too light.
I think you did very well with the composition of this shot. If you only have the camera flash you can try diffusing the flash some with some tissue paper in front of the flash or maybe a ping-pong ball with a notch cut to fit the flash. However you may be better off just using normal room light or maybe add some table or halogen lamps. Bounce the light off the ceiling to reduce the shadows and harshness.
Finally, you may not feel right doing this with your daughter, but she is very beautiful and if you had untied the top behind the neck and let the strings drop under the money it would have had a sexier look. Her expression is great.
i hope you did this with "fake" money. excellent concept and very nice composition. i like the color processing but you will get mixed reaction from voters on that part for sure. my only concern with this image is a little overexposed bills in the foreground.
in any case, this should place high. over all very good work. good luck.
