 I've just recently returned from Peru and had some coins from the country kicking around. The coins in the eyes are 1 centimo, the equivalent of our penny and just as useless--other than for last minute photo contest entries I suppose.

The crop and lighting take away from your shot.

not sure I like the lighting here, the shadow across the right coin is a little distracting

The angle the light is coming from doesn't really work here. It's created harsh shadows that detract from the neat concept you have.

If the background were a solid color and the subject's clothes were different, I think the effect would seem less college dorm-ish.
