I was shooting fall leaves in Door County, WI and happened upon this gem of a shot. Minor adjustments in sat., exp. and recovery and then a tiny crop. I hope you enjoy!

Very unusual photo with very usual everyday view. There are many trees cut out for the power lines all over the place.
Although, what makes this photo unique is the colors and composition. So, why didn't it do better?
Technically, very good. Correctly exposed, nice image. I am not sure if you could find a better angle to shoot this one or crop it a little more to get rid of some stuff from right side of the photo and get rid of the electric pole at the bottom. Nice colors, good image, but it doesn't tell us more than things we see all the time, and honestly some might feel bad about trees and voted low :P that happens you know!
I cropped and played with the image, and it did look much better with more cropped version. Keep in mind "simple, clean and sharp" that's the three things help a good photo from others.
I see this is also your first entry, and it's a very good start... Mine was 4 something :/
What an amusing photograph. So many times times I have taken or wanted to take photographs that are ruined by telephones lines being present. This is definetly the exception.
This is such a unique capture.. it would have been really stellar with some editing to bring out the sky.. contrast.. levels and curves adjustment.. USM and if you ever had the chance to reshoot.. a sharper focus.. 7
As a sudden loss of pressure caused Johnathan to look up, he watched in horror as a part of the tree before him was disintegrated silently, and four dark beams of energy traced a path through the sky. Soon after, the beams gone to whatever destination they were bound to, a sudden boom accompanied the filling in of space that had been emptied in their wake.
Johnathan fell to the ground, grabbing at his ears as his eardrums popped from the pressure and sound. He screamed into the earth in his pain, and so didn't see the following beams that obliterated him, and almost everything around.
A very unique tree. I am curious if it grew around the power lines, or if it was trimmed this way. Kudos for a good eye for the unusual and I like the strong comp with the leading lines. The colors need a bit more oomph, I think. There's almost a really good shot here, it just needs some tweaking.
