This image took forever to come up with, set up, and edit. Thanks to my boyfriend for being a living tripod and a voice-activated shutter remote.
I focussed the image with the autofocus and changed it to manual focus so that my living tripod wouldn't mess it up. Set aperture and shutter speed. Composed and demonstrated to living tripod. Climbed into drainage tube and got myself upside down...triggered voice-activated shutter remote. I have several outtakes where my eyes are closed or I have my glasses on or I look not upside down enough.
Edits: Flip vertically; crop; selective color adjustment layer for reds, greens, blues, and cyans; another selective color adjustment layer for blues and cyans (which got the sky back, it had been completely white in the original image); brightness/contrast adjustment layer; saturation; a little tiny bit of highlights and shadows; save as .jpg; open in The GIMP; resize; unsharp mask radius 5.00 and amount .33; save for web (file is exactly 148.9 kb! ha-HA!).
Guessing in the 5's. Dream Score: a PB!
I wish my face was clearer. If advanced editing were allowed, there woulda been some dodging and burning and some spot-editing of colors. There's also a blue spot that's bugging me...can't change it now, the computer labs are closed. :(
Original image:
Gonna have to admit, I'm a bit disappointed in how it fared.

Sorry about your score here Jessie I think you were robbed a bit as it is a clever shot, probably down to the fact it required more than 2 seconds to actually see what's going on in the shot :(
As I said I would have scored this 7 or 8 had I been voting just for using a flip but adding something original in to it to make the flip mean something.
I really like this, it's a clever idea. The colours are good and bright.
cc. I would like the person to be a bit larger in the frame, you are really limited by the 640px though so that's tough, you may loose the effect by cropping in a bit.
Maybe you were hurt with some DNMC votes if people thought the image was just rotated without studying it more
