This is the 3rd or maybe 4th idea I've tried for this challenge! Good thing I still have hours left to change my mind yet again ;-) But I kind of like the American Dream-y processing with the foreclosure sign. And the unmowed grass (on the postage-stamp-sized lawn) and the front of the foreclosed house being in shadow.
One of the newer subdivisions around here where foreclosure signs are sprouting rather freely. Not unique to the suburbs but they seem to be more numerous there.
Have no idea what sort of gallery this fits in. Snapshot? Dunno' so I'll leave that blank for now.
PP - straightened, cropped, levels, white balance, 2nd layer (Gaussian blur, dodged sign, merged in multiply mode), resized, sharpened, dodged sign some more and burnt some of the letters (not going for subtle, here).

For my taste, I would have preferred to see more of the tops of the houses, rather than the grass at the bottom/front. Overall, a very good take on the challenge.
For the sign to be predominant, it could be a little clearer. Now it's oversharpened mess. Might have cropped tighter too as the other units are distracting.
