The image certainly has happy colors. I think it's a wonderful photo. A bit if a stretch for play, since my impression of spiders is that it's all work, but I do love the bright image.
Without the dark stem/vine on the lower left, this would be perfect. Still, the beautiful primaries plus the dancing spider (perfect timing to get that effect) combine to create a work that belongs in a Lewis Carroll novel.
Damn - this was the one and only standout for me in this challenge, so I didn't vote - the bulk of the entries were just too depressing. It's weird but when I see this I think "French". :) Really lively, both in coloring and perceived movement; if this doesn't exemplify play I don't know what does.
Looks like this may be a soft, OOF shot that was saved with a good artistic treatment. I really like it, though. In fact, I'm faving it. I would like to see the original and know what you did to this one.
