I'd never met Eddy before I saw him standing outside of a Residence Hotel (SRO) near Times Square. He was chatting with another guy looking pretty happy about things and seemed like a good, approachable soul, so I introduced myself and asked him for a picture. He was super friendly so I was glad to be able to capture some of the warmth in his smile and eyes, as that was what drew me to him in the first place.
Good job, Steve. I admire your approach -- I'm not very good at approaching people! This probably wouldn't do well in a Candid challenge because many voters think it's not a candid if the subject is looking at the camera. :-/
A really worthy capture which testifies to your people skills as much as to your eye for a shot. Nice one. Oh, by the way, I saw "uncle" (Joseph Ades) down on Canal Street outside a fishmongers yesterday afternoon late. He was doing his usual patter. A brave man facing those hardened Chinese shoppers ;-)
