Very pleased with how my score has played out. I was up in the 7.3s for a while but later in the week I am watching the drop. At the same time I am watching ecce_signum creep his way up. I don't know which is his but I have a feeling he will overtake me before rollover.
Anyways - I had an entry for dolls but it was a stuffed animal shot and from the sound of it that would probably get hit by DNMC's. I had originally wanted to shoot Rowan for this challenge cause she just does high key so well. I dont know why I didnt off the bat but I ended up going back to that idea on Monday I think. She just has the eyes and skin tones to take high key really well. I am glad I got this image.

Tim, I really love the lighting in this! Those eyes melt you in this shot... I dont know how anyone could give this a 2 or 3 heck even a 4 when looking into those eyes... Congrats on your ribbon!
Congrats on another ribbon. You just do family so well! Beautiful image! I just love the six freckles on her nose! When she gets a little older, you may be in trouble for that! LOL!!
Yet another great image of your kids. :) You are right, she works so well for high key. I love your composition here too. Great work. I always love reading about the shot too, so thanks for putting the time into your "Photographer's Comments".
Hey Timfy, congrats on yet another ribbon. I felt bad in the forum thread this week as I seemed to have scared off the replies. Excellent shot and it fits the challenge just right.
I am always interested in new ways to polish up my basic editing skills and in-camera techniques. Would love to know your process for achieving this look. Congrats on your ribbon and basic editing skills!
This is phenomenal Tim, awesome lighting, and great use of the overexposure, she has phenomenal eyes, really really nicely done, this deserves a fav. from me.
There's my little sweet girl on the front page - my Rowan fair, with the curly red hair. Beautiful capture and congratulations on the yellow. Oh yeah....you're hot. ; )
Tim! I didn't get to vote on this challenge due to my schedule, but this is a beautiful image and a wonderful entry for the challenge. Looks like you and Irene are the dpcers of 2008! Well done
One of my favorites in this challenge, and I am so pleased you received a ribbon, as it deserved to be in the top three.
Well done Tim.....
I am in 'AWE' of the way your photography has grown in the past two years.....
Geez, you're a master at this. Those eyes are doll-like indeed. I like the tilted pose, the directness of the gaze, the crop and the borders to polish it off. But the one thing that bugs me a little is, oddly enough, the very thing that was required for the challenge. With the loss of detail in the eyebrow and the line under the eye, there's a strange illusion of the right eye being smaller than the left. Really just a minor issue for me, and this is still an exquisite, intimate child portrait. Kudos.
What beautiful eyes! and so clear and crisp! The speckles on her nose are really distracting, but I imagine those are freckles? The border doesnt do anything for me but good picture 8
Is that you Timfy? My, what gorgeous eyes your daughter has! You really get high contrast/overexposed ... I wouldn't have a clue how to begin to get such wonderful results.
The magnitude of the differences between the two eyes (size, shadows on both sides of the left eye globe but not the right) and the dilated pupils despite bright light make this a bit unsettling. If not due to photographic factors, a medical eye evaluation might be wise.
I guess this is Timfy with another great shot, one of my two 10's in the challenge. fantastic use of the overexposure to give a very contemporary portrait. Amazing expression as well!
