Very bright sun made it easy to overexposed in camera to more effectively communicate the degree of perceived brightness in sunflowers, which normal exposure sometimes misses. However, overexposure is easy to overdo. Slightly slower shutter speed blows away considerable detail. The background is a white fence and shadows of large leaves. Opened in ACR at defaults plus small boost in "clarity". In CS3 crop square, minimal shift in yellow hue (toward reddish -4 away from pure yellow) to regain a little detail in the petals, selective color adjustment to decrease background greens and cyans, add border, resize for web. This is from a second batch of images, after going back to manually remove some distracting leaves right next to the flower. I suppose this could have been overexposed in studio against a pure white backdrop, but getting this result out in the garden feels a lot more satisfying.

After voting: here is a version from about the same afternoon time the day before, still bright sunlight, but f/2.8, shutter 1/8000 for more normal exposure (before I came back and trimmed away some of the leaves.
Here is a more overexposed version:

Not digging the border at all. But on second look at this I think I may have been a bit harsh on the first vote around. This does have a somewhat pleasing painting like effect to it. Bumping up 1.
