This is a shot I took during Tropical Storm Fay. This was one of the only occurrences I found of someone actually being out in the storm, besides my mother and I lol. Not exactly sure where they were going or why, probably something I will always ponder.
Very minimal editing on this. I cloned out the road-sign behind them and the address from the mailbox to preserve some of their anonymously. I had tried blurring the road-sign first however it was simply too distracting.

I like this shot. It gives the impression that it's telling a story - could be a frame from a movie. The down-pour and the expressions on the kids faces create interest. This would have done much better in a photojournalism challenge - Free Study's can be brutal. I agree with your choice to leave the mailbox in the crop. If you removed it then it would not be clear that these kids are on a road. Nice capture.
I imagine it's tough taking photos in the rain: I wouldn't know. I'm wondering if that is why it looks slightly blurry to me? But anyway, that's a lot of rain!
This looks like a bad day! I like that you can see the rain coming down and you have captured their expressions well. I'm not sure about the crop, though. I think I would have eliminated the mailbox on the right and focused in more on the kids.
