A huge field of Goldenrod with one solitary Monarch going from plant to plant under a drowsy midday sun.
PP - converted from RAW, cropped, dodged butterfly, destaurated a few butterfly spots, colored some of butterfly more orange, shifted yellow-greens to greener, burnt goldenrod (I blew out my yellows!), cloned out a branch, increased contrast, added border, resized, sharpened.
We have goldenrod here in Quebec but they look different from this one. Still, this is an incredible shot, the composition is perfect and I really like that dark green BG. I enjoy your images so much! This is another favorite!
The colour and clarity (and all your fine work) really make the elements AND the subtle light on them emerge just as we would like to imagine them in a well balanced - feels just right - composition.
from the thumbnail I thought, she needs to lighten this exposure, then I see it and WOW!! the butterfly is awesome and the lighting is a perfect fit for the image :)
