Was I the only one who saw graph paper? I like GeneralE's pixel theory - far more appropriate to the current medium. (I'm old school. I remember graph paper. I loved graph paper.)

Excellent example/illustration of the concept of the bitmapped image being comprised of pixels.
It might be interesting to select inside each of the squares and average the color values to see what it would look like if each square in the screen was really a single pixel.
