I like the B&W treatment and the glow you gave it all. The image seems a bit soft (not sure if this was your decision or not) but I think it works well because it focuses our attention on the tones and not the sharpness of any pixel...

Very interesting approach. Just that little glow above the main daisy detracts from the effect. Did you try cloning it out?
