I had gone to a conference at the Gold Coast, and walked onto Broadbeach on the final morning. The sky had this lovely dramatic streaky appearance, and with a polarising filter, looked good.
The final score way exceeded my expectations, and is a personal best for me. Thanks all, for the kind comments.

Hey, what are you doing up here in Queensland, taking all our great photos. :) Well done, and good to see you in the freestudy lineup, right next to your fellow melbournian, hotpasta.
Sandy P - that's very kind of you, but there is no way on earth I'd consider this photo of mine to approach the impact of your dragonfly. And yes, a PB is very gratifying. Pity about the "evening" challenge of mine, which is tanking!
Ohmygoodness! I am stunned that this one got beat out by a little dragonfly! This is BREATHTAKING! Ummmmmmm. .. .yeah, I think those photography books you've been reading in your off time have made a bit of a difference :) Congratulations on a personal best!
Lovely scene, very dramatic. The softness of the clouds and ocean contrast well with the sharp edges of the city. Also like the figure down the beach, adds a point of small detail interest. 10
I like the colors your have going in the sky; youv'e got ultramarine above the city- cobalt an dcerulean to the right upper side; and payne's gray as shadows and water. Theres a bit of a sharpening effect as well as a skew to the photo thats a bit unnatural; but this, overall, is spectacular.
