I’m not sure if this is Still Life in the classic sense (dishes, vases, fruit) but I love the refractions in the simple drop of tap water. Also like the serene colours.
I originally wanted to say that I didn’t have a lot of hope for this shot but I knew that Yanko would be down on me like a ton of hot bricks ;-D

- Not only is Irene very good but she sure can pick em! When she scores 6.5 or higher she has won a ribbon 40% of the time! That's either very high or my percentage is low (i.e. 18%). Here's an Irene fun fact for ya. Irene has entered 182 challenges and finished in the top 25 96 times (53%) and has finished in every position between 1 and 25 except 15th. So try, try, try as she might Irene just can't finish 15th place.
Love the lighting. This one and the Outtake. I interested how you accomplished the lighting and the stillness. Usually in these type of shots with feathers, there is always movement. Especially from cooling fans.

Second: To those who gave 1 and 2's ... even 3's to this photo, please quit photography before you get hurt by dropping your stinking cameras to your head and bleed to death... There are safer things for you out there, like flipping burgers at local sandwich store. Just don't use the grill.

A great shot Irene. I love how the drop works as a lens to blow up the details of the feather in more. We can almost touch the delicate feel of the feather with this one. Big congrats on the ribbon.
I knew it! I knew this was the work of Irenem! I told my coworker when I saw this, I said "This must be by Irenem". It's such a distinct style and it's top notch too.
Irene, First thing, congratulations on yet another ribbon. Second, I'm still trying to decipher the code (these things take time) so you'll have to keep winning. Third, does it hurt to have all your creative juices flowing like that, shouldn't you let a little out at a time, oh say like, let 10 or 20 challenges go by and then turn it loose on us, or would it hurt to stop such creative genius??
Any way, you know you rock and we are still waiting for your 8+ shot, so could you please WOW us sometime soon and stop holding back :)~

Yes this has your stamp all over it Irene, and this a beautiful image, and I love that water droplet.....
