This little fellow was so amazing! He sat on that leaf and let me sit down right in front of it and I swear, I took a zillion pictures of him. Every time I changed angles or positions, he just turned and looked right at me without even hinting that he wanted to fly off. And I had my macro lens on the shortest distance, and got RIGHT in his littl face! By the time I left, I felt a connection to him and I hated to leave him. I wanted to go find him a ton of mosquitos to eat to reward him for being such a great poser :)

i feel bad that I have not kept up on your portfolio lately Sandy :( I amm sure I cannot say anything about this shot that hasn't already been said. It is, in a word, beautiful, so crisp and colorful.
At a time when I feel mightily disgruntled with DPC (note to self is it possible to feel gruntled about anything) it is images like this and talent like yours that keeps me coming back for one more look
The colour and sharpness of this shot is beyond praise. I know you felt that you were struggling with your new lens (even when you were producing great shots) but this is simply awesome.
One of very few pictures I would actually pay good money to purchase
Sandy my admiration for you as a photographer and a person knows no bounds
Well the new lens works well, but then you need to be a good photographer to get it all together, being on the front page say's it all, congratulations.
WOWZER, Sandy!! This is really fantastic and WHAT A FINISH! Congratulations - you rock!
...I just looked at your profile - this 7.0188, not good enough for your row of honor. I'll shed a tear for you. ;-) LOL - you are one of your toughest competitors. :D
Sandy, I love dragonflies & I do photograph them a lot. Now this is a wonderful shot with such a unique perspective. Thank you for showing me a new perspective !!
I'm so happy you hung onto that 7....now I bet your "garden grin" is an ear to ear smile of joy! Well done!!! Congrats on your Top 10 finish in a tough race!
Look at you! "I don't know how to use this lens" - I seem to recall you saying that a few short weeks ago? Well, I think you've figured it out! I'm amazed at the detail, the richness of color. Well, no, not amazed - you do this kinda thing in your sleep! A am terribly envious of the clarity and crispness at 1/80th, but only because I can't get anything even remotely good at that speed! Lovely work as always and congrats on a top ten among the very best of the best!
Sandy - what an amazing macro. Bugs are the one thing I cannot stand to take pictures of so it is cool that you can get out and do this :D. Gorgeous color and amazing clarity. Congrats on the top 10!
Ahh man! This has got to be achoo. (if not, this is certainly a compliment!) Lovely expression on the \"face\". Beautiful bokeh. My choice for the best macro in the study! Congrats.
