This is part of a series of shots taken while the loon was trying to intimidate me into leaving his lake. His mate and two young ones were waiting obediently on the far side of the lake while 'papa' took care of the intruder.

I really like the capture, and I love the story that goes with it! You can let him know he looks VERY intimidating. The purplish tinges in the water are lovely, too.
Nice capture with good focus...except for the eyes. Aside from that I love the action you captured. The exposure is well handled particularly in the chest. It starts getting bright but it does have detail.
I'm still looking for the focal point. I think it should be the eye, but it doesn't have the sharpness I expect. The image is well composed, but I find the colours a bit flat.
