This is an amazing shot but I'm not to big on the background. It's probably nothing you had any control over but if you'd put a sky or landscape background behind this, you'd have a definate winner.

The detail and colors of the eagle are quite good in this....the background leaves me cold.....fine image for the challenge them....though it looks like it's bill had been broken and perhaps not as strong as it might be, the symbolism overrides that for me.

A bald eagle always makes a great subject for a photo, but the background is horrible. It gives me the feeling that this is a stuffed bird in the DNR office.

Great focus on the eyes. Good detail in the feathers. Would have been a 10 if the stong horizontal line behind the head were not there. (9)

I think that the use of flash instead of daylight and the background will lower your final score. Just putting some towel behind it as background (held by hand) would had helped.
