I plucked my first cucumber today, I probably could've left it on there over the wkend, but I didn't want the groundhog to get to it first. I've been fighting that stupid groundhog almost since I planted the dang stuff!
Anyway, I brought it over & gave it to Bri & said, "hold on I have to grab my camera" then he acted like he was going to eat it.
This is my first real garden so all the plants are kind of like my babies, I've been watching them grow since May, lol.
This is a really fun photo! I know how it is to battle the beasties; I'll let you know how it works with Chucky over here. I'm out of town for a couple more days but the war resumes soon.

Love the shot - great BW - good luck with the rest of your veggies. I just heard a big program on NPR about what to do about critters eating your garden. It was pretty involved. I'm thinking a scare tactic might be good. Where's Rusty in all of this? I mean... couldn't he tackle the groundhog??
lol .. did he actually eat it .. ??.. we've just started a veggie garden, well greg has made sides and put in dirt and manure etc .. next thing to do is plant some seeds .. !! .. i'm looking forward to eating our veggies .. no pesticides and organically grown .. :)
