Our summer vacation was more of a stay-cation this year. We drove up to northern Vermont and spent a couple days on this beautiful lake. The first night, we had an amazing sunset.
I captured this with our new P&S. I really wanted to get an entry in with this camera just to do it... Not expecting much, but hopefully in the upper 5s.

Really great score on this one, and well deserved. This is a superb landscape, stripped down to light and shapes(with a small point of interest provided by the boat) that works on every level. The V shapes are strong and funnel the view right down to the water and the boat. I agree with jonfrommk, why vacation if you can stay-cation and visit a place this beautiful. I had it pegged for a Scandinavian location.
Peter...I see this far outstripped your expectations and justly so. I can fully understand why you would have a stay-cation if the scenery around you is as beautiful as this. Given that we see a lot of sunsets over lakes on DPC it takes something very special to make you stop in your tracks....Let me tell you, this IS very special
Glorious composition, colours and reflection. Adding this to my favourites and congratulations on the great score
Congratulations on your 12th place finish Peter, It definately wasnt the one I had picked to be your entry. Wonderful Reflections and Color! Excellent Score!
I'm now going to have to vote on at least 20% in this challenge in order for my vote to count on this absolutely stunning image. I hope you're satisfied ;-) and I hope you win.
