Beautiful colors and nice composition, Judi. Although I agree with Peter that a bit more taken off the rocks might have worked even better. Is this where you shot that video of the photoshoot on the rocks with your daughter?
Awesome warm and rich light here Judi - I am a big fan of this one and this spot - great work as usual.
I hope you don't mind, but here are a couple things I noticed...
I just wonder if a slightly different crop or a slightly different composition may have taken this up even a higher notch for the DPC crowd. The placement of the shore seems very centered, almost as if it is two shots - one of the shore and one of the water. It seems to me that it was hard to decide how to crop to get the feel of the actual spot and this is a compromise. Second, the crop of the top of the tree in the center also makes it seem ever so slightly missing something.
One thing that I think really makes this shot work, besides the incredible capture of the 'light', is the diagonal line created by the shore and continued into the water below the trees on the right.
Little too much yellow for my taste on the rocks. But I love what the lighting is doing for the tree in the water. It looks beautiful with the reflections and the simple sky.
