I think this may be too curvy to be taken as a point of color. Hope I'm wrong....
Post challenge:
I found this to be a very difficult challenge to get an idea for.
Then, around the middle of the week my husband bought me a beautiful, long stemmed red rose with this thick green blade of grass amongest the decoration. I knew right away I’d found my subject. I loved the rose but (nearly) loved the blade of grass even more ;-) The water droplet sort of “anchored” the composition and also nicely reflected the coarse surface of the grass.
I lit this from underneath with a piece of black boarding as a background.
THANKS a million for the ribbon, the fantastic score and the comments. Also thanks to Leo FocusPoint who’s sending me a dpc hat.

Irene I love all your work you nearly get 10's every time from me, and I am very stingy about rating lol. Keep up your amazing work, look forward to seeing what you come up with next.
I knew this had to ribbon. Perfect balance and execution as usual. Congrats!!.
It is amazing how you keep on re-inventing your macro style (and technics)... I'm kind of missing your good-old umbrella splashes :-)
I had a feeling this was yours. It had that Irene-award-winning-look allllll over it :) Conratulations! I'm going to trust you that it never gets old :)
Congrats Irene...I think you may be running for a record here, five ribbons in a month!! Impressive! Beautiful shot...it was my fav!! Very well executed.
shouldn't you start a class/forum/web on indoor glass/drops/liquid/lighting ??? please start something, we all need it. i know i do. wont say congrats again ... seems like it wont hold any significance over this heap of congratsss
what a role you ar on..and every ribbon well deserved. This shot is beautiful, yet again. Love teh way the drop does seem to anchor the blade down, well done yet again mate ;-)
My goodness, Irene. What a beautiful image. Love the graduated gray background and the lovely green curve and reflection accenting your richly saturated point of color. Wish I'd had time to vote on this challenge. I've got a handkerchief I could send you. If you'd lay your hands on it and lend me some of your ribbon MoJo, and send it back to me, I'd start entering the challenges again and pay my membership dues for the next year. You might be able to sell these to other DPC'ers and make a living.
Just joking Irene. But I'm not joking about your image. Magnificent!
Talk about a roll... you are just KILLING it this year! Your 2008 average must be something like 6.8, over so many challenges! At the rate you're going, you'll be over 25 ribbons by the end of the year, simply amazing!
Holy snap Girl, your out of control on this site. Soon this will no longer be known as DP challenge, but under the new name of "The IreneM Show".
Most wonderful shot and fully deserving of the accolades you received. I'm humbled by your presence on this site, to have ready access to a photographer such as your self and be able to see such quality and consistent photography is awesome.
Congrats on the Blue ribbon, Irene! Fantastic! : )
It's getting to the stage now, where it takes several minutes to scroll down your profile page!! : )
I love this shot. Not sure how the voters will view this as meeting the challenge but I think it is awesome. A lot to look at in a such a simple image.
Incredible picture, the angle is perfect for for the reflection, nice choice of background color. Couldn't have done it better imo. Getting a 10 from me, very nice work!!
Very well done, my top pick for the challenge! I am guessing this is IreneM and another ribbon. If not the comparison is definately meant as a compliment.
