During an art opening at our (Young Arts') gallery, I was shooting into the crowd and looked later to see what I captured - this was one of those photos.
The 50 mm has a way of picking out its own subject if you are not controlling the shot. So the focus was on this girl/woman in the midst of the crowd. All of the attendants came from group homes for mentally disabled people. There are more photos in my portfolio from that evening.
The framing of your main subject by the others just makes this shot. That framing and high contrast just pull me into this shot, and makes me want to learn more about your subject.
IMHO this is what photography is all about. Capturing life's moments. Since I have been more involved with photography over the last few months I've noticed that I have been more aware of what's going on around me and have been looking through a different set of eyes.
