I saw this little one on the same plant as the green fly so shot a couple of pics though they were very blurred. I got the tripod out as there was just enough room to get it in and the pics came out much better, even though it was charging around the branch!
Shot with the p&s again in macro mode at 4 X magnification, mounted on a tripod using the 2s timer.
No crop, selected everything other than the bug and the brown stalk and did a noise ninja as there was a little noise even at ISO 80! Curves, resize, usm and sfw

The DOF really helps to make the beetle pop, and I love the soft colors against the colors of the beetle.
