Having the masks nailed to the tree in broad daylight suggest an interesting dichotomy of safety vs. danger, but the lighting is very harsh here. Perhaps a different perspective might have helped - rather than straight-on -- perhaps from above to show superiority over the former danger.
Great subject. Focus and/or processing isn't great. Shooting at a different time of day or under better (or simialrly eerie) lighting conditions might have helped.
"Find or create a mask, and photograph someone wearing it this week." I had to count off for the 'no wearing' part... but this is an interesting image.
